Looking for pallets that can handle my hardware stock

[ursulazelah]

I've been running a small hardware supply business in Sharjah for about four years now, and we're finally at the point where we need to upgrade our storage and transport setup because the old wooden pallets we've been using are literally falling apart. We deal with a lot of medium-weight items like boxes of nails, packs of screws, tool sets, and bags of fittings that aren't super heavy individually but add up quickly when stacked together. I've been browsing Crateco's website and I'm really intrigued by their range of plastic pallets, particularly these medium duty pallets that seem like they'd be the perfect fit for our needs. They look sturdy enough to handle our typical loads without being overbuilt and overly expensive like the heavy-duty industrial ones. What's appealing to me is the consistency of plastic compared to wood – no splinters, no nails sticking out, no warping from humidity, and they're supposed to be much easier to clean which is important because we get a fair amount of dust and grime in the warehouse. I'm just not entirely sure about the weight capacity in real-world conditions, especially when they're stacked a few high on the racking system. Do they hold up well under load over time, or do they start to bow in the middle? Also, are they compatible with standard forklifts and pallet jacks, or do you need special equipment? I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's using these in a similar retail or wholesale environment.
