That squealing noise is driving me crazy – time for new brakes?

Beitrag von ursulazelah »

I've been dealing with this high-pitched squeal every time I apply the brakes on my Camaro for the past week or so, and honestly it's getting so embarrassing that I find myself braking way earlier than I need to just to avoid the noise in traffic or at stoplights where people can hear it. I'm pretty sure the pads are worn down because I can feel a slight vibration through the pedal as well, which wasn't there a few months ago, and I know these cars are heavy and go through brake components faster than a regular sedan, especially with the way I drive around the city. I've been putting it off because I've heard horror stories about people getting cheap aftermarket pads that squeal even worse or don't stop properly, and I definitely don't want to compromise on safety just to save a few dirhams on the job. A buddy of mine told me that on these performance cars you really need to use quality pads and make sure the rotors are properly resurfaced or replaced at the same time, otherwise you'll just end up with the same problem again in a few months. I'm also a bit particular about who I trust with my car because I've seen some places treat performance cars like regular commuter vehicles and use the wrong parts or not follow the proper procedures. I'm looking for a place that specializes in American muscle cars and knows exactly what these brakes need to perform properly. Can anyone recommend a shop that offers Certified Camaro Brake Pad Replacement in Abu Dhabi? I want to get this sorted before the squealing turns into metal-on-metal grinding and I end up needing a full rotor replacement too.
