XE owner here, is a Jaguar gearbox service really necessary at 80k?
I keep going back and forth on this. My 2016 XE has done about 80,000 km and the shifts still feel smooth, no complaints at all. But I have read enough forum threads to know that ZF boxes benefit from fresh fluid even if the manufacturer calls it lifetime. The problem is I do not want to fix something that is not broken and risk introducing problems. Someone mentioned a genuine Jaguar gearbox service in Industrial Area 10 and I am considering getting a quote just to see, but I wanted to ask here first. Has anyone done a fluid and filter service on their Jaguar at this mileage and did it change anything, good or bad? Also do these need a specific procedure with temperature checks and adaptation resets, because I do not want someone doing a quick drain and fill and calling it done.
