Full service due soon and I can't decide between dealer and independent shop
My 2018 530i is creeping up on 90k km and I know the full service is coming whether I like it or not. The last time I went to the dealer for just an oil change they hit me with a list of "recommended" extras that added up fast, and I walked out feeling like I'd been talked into things I didn't really need. Now I'm trying to plan ahead and do it properly without getting taken for a ride again. A neighbor who drives an X3 told me he switched to an independent specialist a while back and never looked back, said the work was solid and the pricing made way more sense. I've been looking around for a Professional full BMW service near Khalifa City since it's close to home and I can drop the car off on my way to work. I found a page that lists what's included in major and minor service which helped me understand what I should actually be asking for, but I'm still unsure whether an independent shop can match the dealer for things like software updates or genuine parts. Has anyone here made the switch from dealer to independent for a full service? Did you regret it or was it the best decision? I just want the car maintained properly without the inflated invoice and the pressure tactics.
