My RS3's DSG makes a loud clunk when I come to a stop - is this normal?
So I've got a 2019 RS3 with about 40,000 kilometers on it, and overall I absolutely love the car, it's an absolute beast on the road. But there's something that's been concerning me lately and I'm not sure if it's normal behavior for the DSG or if there's a problem developing. Whenever I come to a complete stop, especially when braking moderately hard, there's a noticeable clunk or thud that seems to come from the transmission area just as the car comes to rest. It's not terribly loud but it's definitely audible, and I can feel it through the chassis as well. It almost feels like the gearbox is disengaging or the clutches are opening with a bit of force. The car shifts perfectly in every other situation, no hesitation, no jerking, just this clunk when coming to a stop. I've mentioned it to a couple of friends who have similar cars and they said theirs doesn't do it, which has made me more worried. I've been searching for specialists who know these DSG units and I came across a group that are considered Audi DSG Transmission Specialists UAE, and I'm thinking I should take it to them for a proper inspection. Has anyone else with an RS3 or similar DSG-equipped Audi experienced this clunk when coming to a stop, and what was the cause and fix? I'm really hoping it's something simple like an adaptation reset or a mount that needs tightening rather than something internal to the gearbox. Would really appreciate any insight from people who've dealt with this.
