I'm scratching my head a bit here and hoping someone with more technical knowledge can point me in the right direction because I'm honestly out of my depth with this one. I run a small office in one of the buildings near the World Trade Centre and we've got this backup power setup for our server room that's been acting up over the last few weeks. The system uses a couple of large 12V 200Ah batteries and I suspect they're reaching the end of their life because the runtime has dropped dramatically and we're getting voltage warnings during power dips which never used to happen before. I've been looking around for a workshop that actually knows what they're doing with these bigger batteries, because it's not like taking your car to a regular garage where they just pop a new battery in and you're done. These 200Ah units are heavy beasts, and I've heard stories about people damaging their equipment or even causing electrical fires by trying to fit the wrong type or not tightening connections properly. I need a place that can test the whole system properly, not just tell me "oh you need new batteries" without checking the charger and the inverter as well, because I'd hate to spend a fortune on replacements only to find out the real problem is something else in the system. Ideally I'm looking for a Certified 200Ah battery workshop near World Trade Centre, somewhere within reasonable distance so I can actually visit them during lunch and explain the situation face to face rather than trying to describe everything over the phone. I've seen a few places listed around Sheikh Zayed Road and Trade Centre area that supposedly handle industrial and commercial batteries, but it's really hard to tell which ones are legitimately certified and experienced versus just general electronics shops that claim they can do everything. The thing that worries me most is that some of these larger batteries use AGM or VRLA technology and they need specific charging profiles, and if a workshop doesn't understand that nuance they could end up shortening the lifespan of the new batteries or, even worse, creating a safety hazard. I've come across the Amaron Quanta batteries which seem to be highly regarded for these applications, and some websites like mention having workshops that handle larger capacity units, but I'd really love to hear from anyone who has actually used a service in this area for a similar setup before I commit to anything. Also, does anyone know roughly what a fair price would be for replacing two 200Ah batteries including installation and proper disposal of the old ones? I don't want to get ripped off but I also understand that this isn't a cheap job and I'd rather pay for quality work than go with the cheapest option and regret it later. Any recommendations or warnings about who to avoid would be massively appreciated because right now I'm just going back and forth between different options and feeling a bit stuck.
